District Board Elections

There are two six-year term Board Member seats up for election in 2019.  The incumbents, Cliff Sires (Seat #2) and Eric Paull (Seat #3), are both declaring candidacy for the May 21, 2019 election.  If any resident of the District is interested and qualified to serve in either of these positions, please contact the District Clerk.  Deadline for filing a Petition of Candidacy and Declaration of Candidacy is March 22, 2019 with the KPSD office.

Seat #2 Incumbent Cliff Sires:  Originally from Oklahoma, Cliff relocated to North Idaho in 1971 after completion of his service in the U.S. Airforce. He has lived in the District since 1976 where he and his wife raised their 3 children.  Cliff worked as a manager for Cygnus located in Ponderay.  He has served as a valued KPSD Board Member since 1983.

Seat #3 Incumbent Eric Paull:  Eric settled in the Sandpoint area with his wife and two sons in 1995. Eric has over 36 years of banking experience and is currently the Vice President and Commercial Banking Relationship Manager of Washington Trust Bank. 1. Wait 2 full business days after the day you call for a request before digging.
  2. Do not dig until all known facilities are located.
  3. Hand dig within twenty four (24) inches each side of the under ground facility markings. Do not assume depth.

Frozen Lagoons During Severe Cold Snap

Yes, the lagoons do freeze over.  This does not create any issues for the health of the plant, but it does create some interesting situations for the plant operations team.  The colder temperatures combined with freezing winds caused some ice build-up and tipped several of the aerators.   The ice needs to be manually broken up to maintain a good flow and in this case the aerators needed to be reset.   They can only be reached by row boat and brought to the edge to be placed upright again with the crane. Makes for pretty pictures—but not fun rowing through the ice!

“It’s a New Year and a great time to review your bill pay program”

Please review your statement as rates did change on October 1, 2018. Also, the District has been updating the account numbers in our data-base. You may have a new account number.

If you have an auto payment coming from your bank directly to KPSD, now is a good time to update the amount and account number to ensure that your account stays current.

The current billing statement is due in full by March 31st, 2019. If you would like to receive your statement electronically, please send us an email.

THANK YOU.
