Update Your Bank Bill-Pay System: If you are utilizing an “online bill pay” service, please update your account information to reflect the new sewer fees. Adding your sewer account number in the memo section of your bank’s bill pay ensures the proper crediting of your payment to your account. Your account number starts with “BID” and 4 numbers. For example “BID0000”. Your account number can be found on your billing statement.

Online Payment Portal is Here: If you have an internet connection and an email address, you can now pay your KPSD bill online.
Create an account and then add your Web ID (found on your quarterly bill) which should then pull up your service address. If you have multiple service addresses, you will have to add the Web ID for each address.
Our payment portal gives you the ability to pay by credit card, set up automatic recurring payments, access your account (s) online, and view your last billing statement or payment history.
Santa Sack Project – Santa Claus Is Coming to Ponderay & Kootenai Saturday, December 17, 2022
The City of Ponderay is excited to announce that Santa and his trusty elves will be flying around the Ponderay Community (and Kootenai Elementary) on Saturday, December 17th for the 19th annual Santa Sack Project.
This event began years ago by sending out Santa Claus on a fire truck into the neighborhoods of Ponderay and handing out a simple bag of candy. However, it was clear from those early days that there was a greater need in the community and over the last 18 years that vision has grown.
Thanks to incredibly generous donations from the community and local businesses, Santa and crew, are now able to deliver 575 bags each year filled to the brim with essentials and goodies to children and senior citizens alike.
Over the years, the Santa Sack project has turned into an amazing community event, lending a helping hand while creating memories with the children of Ponderay and Kootenai. Children all bundled up, anxiously stand by the curb waiting to see Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves who arrive on the Ponderay Express Trolley.
There are so many in need in our community. It is truly heartwarming to see the smiles and hear the appreciative thanks. We are so grateful, that we are able to continue this program year after year thanks to the generous support of the community!
Please help us continue to make memories. If you are interested in supporting this wonderful project by making a donation, it would be so appreciated. Your donations stay within our community and will be delivered personally by Santa and Mrs. Claus. We strive to make each sack the same, so items are ordered in bulk in advance of the event in order to stretch every dollar just as far as it can go. Gift bags are packed in Santa’s Workshop (Ponderay City Hall) the week of December 12th-16th.

NPDES Permit Update:
The District continues to work diligently to find ways to meet the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) requirements. A Lake Study was completed regarding the District using a deep water outfall to discharge rather than the current discharge to the Boyer Slough. Those results have been provided to DEQ for review. The District is reviewing the cost options related to moving the outfall, installation of a package mechanical-type plant, or a combination of both.
The possibility of a regional sewer plant comprised of several of the different sewer entities in the area began several years ago. The costs and feasibility of regionalization are still being evaluated.
The District is aware of not only the responsibility of the District to the environment and providing a necessary service, but of the financial burden the new requirements will incur which affects our patrons. These are requirements that have to be met. The District is searching for a financially feasible way to meet these requirements which is also acceptable to DEQ.
