Annual Budget Public Hearing
August 29th, 5 PM: 2022-2023 Proposed Budgets, Rates & Fees Review and Review of 2021 -2022 Proposed Revision of Budgets. Meetings are open to the public and are held at the District office located at 511 Whiskey Jack Road.
Delinquent Accounts: Per Idaho Code, accounts that had a past due balance on August 1st, have been turned over to the County Tax Rolls for collections. Please give the County Treasurer’s office a couple of weeks to input this information before contacting them with payment questions. They can be reached at (208) 265-1433. The District rolled over approximately $33,406 to the county tax rolls this year. This amount is up from last year’s turnover of $31,062, but down the number of properties turned over.
Owner’s Registration Form: Due to federal mandate, the District is currently reviewing customer accounts for the completed identity theft paperwork. Sewer bills can be used as proof of identity and open the door to identity theft. If the Owner’s Registration form is not on file for your account, we can not give you any information over the phone regarding your account. The Owner’s Registration form (also known as Red Flag Paperwork), can be downloaded at our website. This process is ongoing and we thank you for your prompt replies to the District’s requests.
Help Your Neighbor: In this changing financial world, it is a balancing act for all of us. Your generosity, especially in these tough times, is appreciated so much. If you are struggling, please visit our office for an application for assistance with your sewer service. Many thanks to all the anonymous donors and the following local contributors for their continued support: DSS Construction, Inc., Dryvest, Inc., Outdoors Inn, Ponderay Dental, Squeeky’s Truck and Auto Works, and Tom’s Differentials, Inc.
- Call 811 before you dig for all locates.
- It is a violation of Federal, State, and District ordinances to deliberately introduce storm or ground waters into the sanitary sewer system.
Online Payment Portal is Here: If you have an internet connection and an email address, you can now pay your KPSD bill online.

Our payment portal gives you the ability to pay by credit card, set up automatic recurring payments, access your account (s) online, and view your last billing statement or payment history.

The Northside Fire District is currently recruiting volunteer firefighters. The district provides fire and emergency medical services to a 115-square-mile area, which includes the cities of Ponderay, Kootenai, and unincorporated portions of Bonner County. The training for full-time and part-time volunteer firefighters is standardized and joint training classes occur on a monthly basis. This coordination of training efforts allows for optimum performance when responding to any type of incident.
In 2021, the District responded to 850 calls for service. Volunteer firefighters account for approximately 70% of the active firefighters in the United States. Unfortunately, the ranks of volunteer firefighters have been declining over the last several years nationwide. In the Northside Fire District, the number of active volunteer firefighters has dropped from a high of several dozen a decade ago, to only 5 at the present time.
If you are at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license, this could be your opportunity to enter into an exciting and re- warding career in Fire and Emergency Medical Services. All training and equipment are provided at no cost. The district realizes the difficulties that sometimes exist with busy lifestyles, and provides for several pathways to accomplish the training and attendance requirements. There are few activities in life more rewarding than helping someone in need. Please contact us at (208)-265-4114 or go to www.northsidefire.org.
